Hello RTEMS community,
I am Harsha Vardhan, and I’m interested in exploring contributions to RTEMS with the aim of applying for GSoC 2026. I wanted to introduce myself and seek guidance from the community.
Last year, I went through the initial onboarding steps and completed some basic proof-of-work, but I wasn’t able to participate further due to time constraints and uncertainty around project ideas. I’m now revisiting RTEMS and would like to better understand how I can contribute and prepare effectively this time.
My technical background includes:
- STM32 and ARM based platforms
- Firmware development
- System programming
At this stage, I’d appreciate guidance on:
- Good areas or components to start contributing to
- Issues or tasks suitable for gaining familiarity with RTEMS
- General advice for contributers considering RTEMS for GSoC 2026
