Direct support for IoT : A proposed idea - GSOC 2026

@gedare
Hello, I’m Khaled Abdsalame, a final-year computer science and automation student.
I have over two years of experience in C++ and have worked on numerous projects, which you can view on my GitHub.
I have a strong interest in embedded systems and the Internet of Things (IoT), so I’d like to provide direct IoT support in RETMS by porting libraries such as lwIP, libcoap, mbedTLS, wolfSSL, LittleFS, and TinyXML. This will allow RETMS to support IoT platforms and directly access the cloud, facilitating control and data access from different devices through the RETMS system. If the idea is approved, I’m ready to begin. If not, I’m still prepared to port the following:
OpenGL, STORfs, TinyUSB, LittleFS, Microfium, microshell, and Tiny-nginx.
If you’d like, we can discuss the idea further, and I’ll send you proof of work afterward.

ALL is Done @gedare

Thanks, it looks like your git config user.name may not be correct, please double check that it matches your name for proper author attribution. After you fix it, you can add yourself to tracking/2026 · main · RTEMS / Programs / Google Summer of Code · GitLab and begin to engage on topics with project ideas that interest you, or start a new topic if there isn’t an open one already.
