GSoC 2026: Introduction and Proof of Work: Miguel Lichaa El Khoury

Hi everyone,

I’m Miguel Lichaa El Khoury, a first year Computer Engineering
student at the University of Ottawa. I have a strong interest in
embedded systems and hardware security, which is what drew me to RTEMS and GSoC.

I am interested in project 5: Memory Protection (MMU/MPU support).

I completed the getting started guide and built the hello world
sample on the arm/xilinx_zynq_a9_qemu BSP. Here is my proof of work:

Looking forward to contributing to the project.

Thanks, you can add yourself to tracking/2026 · main · RTEMS / Programs / Google Summer of Code · GitLab and search here for topics related to your project interests. You can also start a new topic if there is an open project that interests you but no current topics about it.

This remains an open project, although there was a lot of progress made by a previous student Utkarsh Rai. Please review his work, his blog is still up: https://gsoc2020memoryprotection.blogspot.com/ It is a challenging area to work in.

Thank you for the response and the link to Utkarsh’s blog. I will go through it before moving forward. I will also add myself on GitLab. Looking forward to diving deeper into the project!
