GSOC 2026: Introduction and Proof of Work : Shivam Deolankar

Hello RTEMS community,
I am Shivam Deolankar, currently pursuing 3rd year of my Bachelors of Technology in Information Technology at ABV-IIITM Gwalior.
I have an interest in embedded systems, computer architecture, rust and low level.
The projects in RTEMS are aligned with my interest and will help me gain experience.
I interested in two issue/project:

  1. Locking Protocols for Multiprocessors
  2. Support Rust std lib on RTEMS
  3. Re-import shell commands

Here’s my proof of work,
execution of hello world test

Thanks, you can add yourself to tracking/2026 · main · RTEMS / Programs / Google Summer of Code · GitLab

Check if any open topics already exist for the projects that interest you, if not feel free to open a new topic to discuss each as you prefer.

Ok. Can we connect on discord?
I had a few doubts as I have less idea about the way contributions work here and multiple projects interest me.

I sent a merge request for the tracking work. It got blocked and showed missing permissions.

  • Any member with at least Developer permissions on the project.
  • Members listed as CODEOWNERS of affected files.
  • Users or groups set as approvers in the project’s or merge request’s settings.

You can ask about this either on the GitLab topic area, or in Discord in #gitlab-support channel you might be able to get some interactive assistance.

I asked about this on #gitlab-support. opticron informed me that the section is for reporting problems on RTEMS infrastructure whereas my problem was a simple code review before merging the pr.

Can you help me further regarding this?

In this case, you’ll simply need to wait until someone has time to review your MR. If it sits for a couple of days, a reminder in the GSoC channel is appropriate.

ok thanks for helping me

Hey, I know I have been very troublesome regarding this simple merging task.
Kindly review my changes as I have squashed the commit, ran mdformat on my md file only, and force pushed the patch-1 as instructed.
