Introducing myself to the community!

Hello RTEMS Community!

I am Sameer Srivastava. I go by l1zard/lzrd online. I’m currently a 3rd year Computer Science and Engineering undergrad

I got into embedded systems back in 6th grade, had a lot of fun with Arduinos. Fast forward to college, my latest interests are RTOSes and FPGAs. I have had a lot of fun with ZephyrOS and that experience is what motivated me to dig deeper into how an RTOS works and apply to RTEMS for this year’s GSoC.

My project is titled “Implementing MicroPython Support and Packaging It For RTEMS”, addressing issue #68, where I will be implementing Micropython support for RTEMS including a REPL, script running functionality and access to RTEMS APIs through MicroPython.

Looking forward to a great summer!

Hey there great work on the proposal!

Very excited to see this support coming to RTEMS. We’ll be able to come up with a great ecosystem for users to transparently use RTEMS behind MicroPython on devices and get all the benefits of an RTOS behind Python.

Great work!

Amar.
