We’re glad to have you here! This post is just to reiterate a few important points:

  • Read everything on The RTEMS GSoC Projects Website and pay special attention to the AI Usage policy. The best way to avoid selection is to use generative AI without disclosure.
  • As part of the GSoC Getting Started you should read everything in our Contributing section.
  • For your proposal, you will want to go beyond our Hello World and show that you can work with RTEMS in the specific direction of your proposed work. That will usually be different for each project! You can certainly ask questions here.
  • We have an open projects page that has additional projects that are not suitable for GSoC, but may be worth looking through. You might be able to make one into a GSoC worthy effort. The bottom list of “Tasks” are labelled project::task in GitLab and may be suitable for beginners to try to work on.
